Director Of Doctor Of Public Administration Program at University of Illinois Springfield

Dr. Matthew Sprong has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Dr. Matthew is currently working at the University of Illinois Springfield, where they serve as the Director of the Doctor of Public Administration Program. Dr. Matthew also holds the position of Program Director of Alcohol & Substance Abuse in the M.A. Human Service program and Assistant Professor in the School of Public Management and Policy. Prior to their current roles, Dr. Sprong was the Acting Director of the Doctor of Public Administration Program at the University of Illinois Springfield. In addition to their academic roles, Dr. Sprong has worked as a Life Care Planner & Forensic Vocational Rehabilitation Expert at The World of Work, Inc. and as Co-Founder & Counselor / Clinical Supervisor to Pre-licensed Counselors at Profound Perspectives, LLC.

Dr. Matthew Sprong received their Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2007. Dr. Matthew then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling & Administration at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale from 2009 to 2011. Dr. Sprong furthered their education by obtaining a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Rehabilitation from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, completing their studies in 2014. Additionally, they received the certification of Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) from the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification in March 2011.
