Timothy L. Killeen

President at University of Illinois System

Dr. Timothy L. Killeen is the current President of the University of Illinois System. Prior to this, they served as President of The Research Foundation for SUNY from July 2012 to May 2015, and as Vice Chancellor for Research at State University of New York from July 2012 to May 2015. From July 2008 to July 2012, Dr. Killeen was the Assistant Director for Geosciences at the National Science Foundation (NSF). Timothy was also the Director at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) from July 2000 to July 2008.

Dr. Killeen has been a faculty member in the Department of Physics at Syracuse University and a tenured professor in the Department of Astronomy at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Timothy has also served on various boards and committees, including the National Science Board, the National Academies Committee on Earth Science and Applications from Space, and the NASA Advisory Council.
