Tadeusz Pomianek

Professor Tadeusz Pomianek is the President and co-founder of UITM in Rzeszow.

From 2003 till 2016 he was the Rector of the University.

Habilitated doctor of technical sciences in the field of thermodynamics of alloys (AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, Faculty of Non-Ferrous Metals, 1986), doctor of technical sciences (AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, Faculty of Non-Ferrous Metals, 1978), Master’s degree (AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, Faculty of Non-Ferrous Metals, 1973).

Until 1990, he was mainly involved in research in the field of materials engineering. Between 1973 – 1979, he worked in the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals in Gliwice, where he lead a team that successfully solved technological problems related to the production of copper in Glogow II copper smelter. He also worked as a scientific researcher at Rzeszów University of Technology. Between 1990-1993 he was vice-rector of the university.

Currently, his main area of interest is related to the issues of human resources management, as well as the creation of business-related infrastructure in the field of education, research and consulting.

For many years he was responsible for creating a modern, effective, higher education system based on the principle of fair competition. He is an author of many publications and an expert on the subject of higher education systems in Poland. Thanks to his efforts, private university students have access to many scholarships financed by the Polish government.

Professor Tadeusz Pomianek is also a co-founder of the University of Management and Administration in Zamosc and Tischner European University in Krakow. He is a founder and chairman of the Association of Entrepreneurship Promotion and the initiator of many educational and social projects. His initiatives include the setup of the Rzeszow School of Managers, Business Support Centres and Euro Info Centre and he is also co-founder of the prestigious publishing house Copernicus Center Press.

In the years 1994 -1996 he was co-initiator and trainer of the first satellite company management training in Poland. Between 2004-2006 and 2008-2016 he was the chairman of the Polish Association of Employers in the Private Education Sector, Lewiatan.

Professor Pomianek was awarded The Cross of Polonia Restituta, Medal of the National Education Commission, he also received an award from the Polish Academy of Sciences and an award of the Minister of National Education. He is also proudly an Honorary Citizen of the City of Rzeszow since 2017.

Professor Tadeusz Pomianek enjoys spending time in nature and particularly long walks in the forest. His hobbies include producing herbal tinctures and visiting parks and restored cultural places such as palaces, museums and manors. He also has a passion for reading and exploring the history of our civilization.
