Jay Smith

Jay Smith serves as the Director of the Nuclear Medicine Technology Education Program at the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine since June 2023, while also working as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at The University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics since August 2005. With extensive expertise in advanced diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures, Jay provides clinical training for students and possesses advanced knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and imaging associated with diseases. Previous roles include Instructional Services Specialist and Clinical Coordinator at The University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, and Marketing Manager and Sales Engineer at Square D Company, where significant contributions included developing product business plans and increasing sales. Jay holds a Bachelor's degree in Radiation Sciences from The University of Iowa and an Associate of Science in Biology from Kirkwood Community College.
