Alexis Comber

Alexis (Lex) Comber is a prominent academic specializing in spatial data analytics and geographical information science, currently serving as a Professor of Spatial Data Analytics at the University of Leeds since July 2015. With a wealth of experience in research, teaching, and consultancy, Lex Comber previously held the position of Professor of Geographical Information Science at the University of Leicester from August 2005 to June 2015, focusing on geo-computation and spatial analysis of policy. Prior roles include Senior Research Consultant at ADAS, managing a GIS team and overseeing diverse projects, and Higher Scientific Officer at the Macaulay Institute, where Lex contributed to significant landscape monitoring initiatives. Lex Comber earned a PhD in Computing Science from the University of Aberdeen and a BSc (Hons) in Plant & Crop Science from the University of Nottingham.
