Armando Vargas-Palacios

Armando Vargas-Palacios, PhD, is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Leeds since June 2013, specializing in health economics modelling using discrete event simulation and system dynamics techniques. Previously, Armando was a PhD student in Health Related Research at The University of Sheffield, focusing on the cost-effectiveness analysis of the 2009 A(H1N1) influenza vaccine in Mexico through individual-level stochastic models. Armando's experience includes serving as Under-director of Horizontal Projects at Secretaria de Salud, where participation in regional health policy projects led to research on pharmaceutical regulation, as well as conducting socioeconomic research as a researcher at INSP. Armando holds a PhD in Health Economics from The University of Sheffield, an MSc in Health Economics from CIDE, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidad Iberoamericana, Ciudad de México.
