Gareth Dant

Gareth Dant is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Executive Officer to the Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Leeds since July 2013, where responsibilities include leading the Media and Communications team. Previously, Gareth held roles as Media Relations & Communications Manager and Press Officer at the same institution, focusing on promoting research and managing corporate affairs. Prior to joining the University of Leeds, Gareth oversaw public relations at Lewis & Cooper and operated as the owner of Maximedia, providing media relations advice and freelance writing services. Additionally, experience includes a position as Media Relations Officer at Durham University and various editorial roles in regional newspapers, including The Darlington & Stockton Times and The Northern Echo. Gareth holds an MA(Hons) in History and English from the University of Glasgow.
