Simon Warner is a Visiting Research Fellow in Popular Music at the University of Leeds, with extensive experience in academia and cultural events. From August 2001 to July 2014, Simon led the BA in Popular and World Musics at the University of Leeds and served as a Senior Teaching Fellow and lecturer in the same field. Warner co-organized the Still Howling event commemorating Allen Ginsberg's 'Howl' and co-curated the Louder Than Words festival, emphasizing the interplay between popular music and literature. Additional roles include directing the Centre for the Study of the World's Popular Musics and writing obituaries for The Guardian. Warner holds a PhD and an MA in Popular Music Studies from the University of Leeds and the University of Liverpool, respectively, alongside a BA in Modern History from the University of Sheffield.
