Timothy Metcalf

Timothy Metcalf is an experienced IT leader specializing in service modernization, cyber-security enhancement, and research IT capability development. Currently serving as Head of IT and Interim IT Business Relationship Manager at the University of Leeds since May 2022, Timothy oversees strategic IT initiatives supporting teaching, research, and industry engagement. Previous roles include Partnerships Lead for AI in Education at the University of Buckingham, and Head of Business and Engagement for Research IT Services at UCL, where Timothy established a new group and developed engagement strategies for researchers across various disciplines. Timothy also has extensive project management experience from positions at the University of Southampton, Detica, Tube Lines, and London Underground, complemented by an MBA from The Open University and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of South Africa.
