Richard Corey has a diverse background in both academic and business settings. Richard started their career as the President of Artistek Design, Inc. where they managed client relations, oversaw a team of designers, and directed creative projects. Following that, they joined the University of Maine where they held various positions such as Assistant Professor, Director of Operations for the VEMI Lab, and Associate Graduate Faculty in the School of Computing and Information Science. In these roles, they were responsible for managing staff, collaborating with researchers, teaching graduate classes, and overseeing student projects. Richard also conducted research and provided academic and research advising. Richard has a strong focus on virtual reality, human-computer interaction, and immersive technologies.
Richard Corey received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Intermedial Collaborative Practices from the University of Maine, where they studied from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Intermedia/Multimedia from the same university, studying from 2008 to 2011.
