Ghazala Koosar

Ghazala (Gaz) Koosar's work experience includes various roles in legal services and leadership positions. Ghazala (Gaz) is currently the Head of Legal Services at the University of Manchester Innovation Factory, where they started in 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Director at Northern Roots (Oldham) Limited and Healing Hearts and Minds CIC in 2021. Ghazala (Gaz) also worked as an Independent Person to the Standards Committee at Cumbria County Council from 2021 to 2023. In 2021, they served as a Commercial and Procurement Solicitor at the South London Legal Partnership.

Before these roles, Ghazala worked at Addleshaw Goddard as a Commercial Associate from 2018 to 2021. Here, they worked on various commercial transactions and collaborated with the Innovation and Legal Technology Team on delivering AG Procure, a client-facing legal solution.

Prior to Addleshaw Goddard, they worked as a Solicitor at HM Revenue & Customs from 2014 to 2017, where they were involved in the Columbus Programme, a large IT contracts and procurement project. Ghazala (Gaz) also worked as a Locum Solicitor at Manchester City Council in 2014 and as a Solicitor at Rochdale Borough Council from 2012 to 2014.

Throughout their career, Ghazala has gained experience in various areas of law including commercial contracts, procurement, regulatory law, commercial property, and corporate governance. Ghazala (Gaz) has demonstrated leadership, project management skills, and an ability to handle complex legal matters.

Ghazala (Gaz) Koosar pursued their Masters in Law and Practice at The University of Huddersfield from 2009 to 2012.
