Natalie Mera-Pirttijarvi is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in business analysis and project management, currently serving as the Senior Business Analysis Manager at the University of Manchester Innovation Factory since May 2016. Previously, Natalie held various roles within the organization, including Project Manager, Translational Funding Executive, and Commercialisation Executive. Prior experience includes a tenure at Nanoco Technologies Ltd from June 2007 to May 2016, where Natalie was the Nanomaterials Sub-Team Leader and a Synthetic and Materials Chemist. Natalie holds a Master's Degree in Chemistry from The University of Manchester, completed in 2007, and foundational education from St John the Baptist School, where GCSE and A level qualifications were obtained.

The Innovation Factory works with academic and student inventors to identify research that has the potential to create value. It then translates these into a form where they can be used to benefit society as a whole. Access to innovations may be created via technology licensing or the formation of new spin-out companies. The Innovation Factory aims to provide a world class service to academic colleagues as well as industry; entrepreneurs; licensees; VC & angel investors and corporate venturing partners.
