Jeff McKinney

Jeff McKinney currently serves as the Director of Engineering IT Operations at the University of Maryland, a position held since August 2004, where responsibilities include IT operations strategy, budget management, and implementations for various departments within The A James Clark School of Engineering, excluding Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering as well as the departments of Physics and Math. In the 2017-2018 period, Civil and Environmental Engineering and The Institute for Research in Electronics and Applied Physics were added under his oversight. Prior experience includes roles as Manager of Platform & Network Tools at Global eXchange Services and Manager of Network Tools at GE Information Services, where a variety of leadership positions were undertaken. Earlier in the career, McKinney worked as a Cooperative Education Student at Dominion Virginia Power, focusing on Nuclear Instrumentation and Controls. McKinney holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University and both a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Virginia Tech.
