Lauren Knapp

Lauren Knapp is the Director of Video Production at the University of Maryland's Office of Marketing and Communications, overseeing a collaborative team to showcase university initiatives. With extensive experience in documentary filmmaking and journalism, Lauren has held roles such as Senior Editor at The E.W. Scripps Company, Senior Producer at The Atlantic, and independent video journalist for notable clients including PBS NewsHour and The New York Times. In addition to professional work, Lauren engages in academia as a lecturer at Georgetown University and previously at Northwestern University Medill School and George Mason University. Lauren's educational background includes a Master of Fine Arts from Stanford University in Documentary Film & Video and a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Grinnell College.
