Phillip Pope

Phillip Pope is a current PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Maryland, while also serving as a Machine Learning Researcher at HRL Laboratories, LLC, where work focuses on graph embeddings and bot detection. Previous experience includes roles as a Machine Learning Engineer at Clarifai, contributing to transfer learning experiments and model enhancements for enterprise clients, and as a Data Scientist/Software Engineer at Cycle.land, involving the development of mobile applications and bicycle demand models. Earlier positions included Data Scientist at DeepMile Networks, where predictive analytics on social media personalities were conducted, and a Data Science Intern at Annalect, working on data quality investigations for digital advertising. Additional experience includes a Bioinformatics Internship at Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute, concentrating on genetic research related to lung cancer.
