Matthew Ray

Matthew Ray is an experienced audit and risk management professional currently serving as the Associate Director of Internal Audit at the University of Melbourne since November 2022, where responsibilities include developing and executing a risk-based internal audit plan and leading a team for internal audit reviews. Prior to this role, Matthew was the GM of Risk Management at COVID-19 Quarantine Victoria from January to October 2022, overseeing risk management programs and engaging with business leaders to enhance risk culture. Matthew's extensive experience also includes a lengthy tenure at PwC from March 2000 to August 2021 as a Senior Manager, delivering advisory services in risk, assurance, and forensic accounting across various sectors. Matthew holds a postgraduate degree in Accounting from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a Bachelor of Accounting from RMIT University.
