Andrew Rosenberg

Andrew Rosenberg, M.D. is the Chief Information Officer for Michigan Medicine. He is a tenured associate professor of Anesthesiology and Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School.

As CIO, Dr. Rosenberg guides the strategic planning and operations of technology and information services across the University of Michigan Health System and Medical School.

Previously, he was the Chief Medical Information Officer and the Executive Director of Information and Data Management for the University of Michigan Health System, where he oversaw reporting, data warehousing, enterprise document management, and health information exchange services. From 2017 to 2018, Dr. Rosenberg also served as the interim Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer for the University of Michigan. Previous clinical leadership included Director of Critical Care in the Department of Anesthesiology, Director of Critical Care Research, and Medical Director of the cardiac surgical ICU at UM.

Dr. Rosenberg attended the University of Michigan as an undergraduate and then the Johns Hopkins Medical School where he then completed a residency in Internal Medicine. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the George Washington Hospital and an Anesthesiology Residency at the University of Michigan. He was a Robert Wood Johnson Research Fellow at the University of Michigan and an early diplomat with board certification in Clinical Informatics.

Dr. Rosenberg in the current President of the State of Michigan Epic Users Group (eMUG) and is a member of the board for the Michigan Health Information Network (MiHIN).
