Benjamin Walter is a multifaceted professional with experience in policy research, engineering, and education. Currently serving as a Policy Research Associate at the Washington Institute for Business, Government & Society, Benjamin also contributes to the University of Michigan Solar Car Team as both an Operations Team Member and Structures Engineer. Previous roles include an AI and Emerging Technologies Extern at the USPTO and a Government Affairs Intern at United Therapeutics Corporation. Benjamin started as a Robotics Instructor at Cranbrook Schools and was the Chapter Lead for March For Our Lives. Early work experience includes a position as a Crew Member at Little Caesars Pizza. Benjamin pursues dual Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Political Science at the University of Michigan, building on a solid educational foundation with a high school diploma from Cranbrook Schools.

University of Michigan Solar Car Team
The University of Michigan Solar Car Team is an entirely student-run organization, comprised of University students from a variety of majors and backgrounds. Founded in 1989, this team has built, tested, and raced 16 highly competitive solar-powered electric vehicles. The team races both nationally and internationally, regularly competing in two biannual solar races. The team has shared a podium finish with the most competitive teams in the world, finishing top-3 six times in the World Solar Challenge in Australia! Additionally, the team has won 9 national championships, including 5 of the 6 previous races. Because of this legacy, the team is recognized as the most successful team in North America.
