Joseph Harrington currently serves as the head vehicle dynamics engineer at the University of Michigan Solar Car Team, where leadership is provided in designing and analyzing advanced solar-electric vehicles with emphasis on stability and handling. Previous experience includes roles as project manager and controls systems engineering intern at Roush, as well as a powertrain calibration engineering intern. Joseph also contributed to Michigan Engineering Student Government as a senator. Education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, pursued from 2020 to 2024.

University of Michigan Solar Car Team
The University of Michigan Solar Car Team is an entirely student-run organization, comprised of University students from a variety of majors and backgrounds. Founded in 1989, this team has built, tested, and raced 16 highly competitive solar-powered electric vehicles. The team races both nationally and internationally, regularly competing in two biannual solar races. The team has shared a podium finish with the most competitive teams in the world, finishing top-3 six times in the World Solar Challenge in Australia! Additionally, the team has won 9 national championships, including 5 of the 6 previous races. Because of this legacy, the team is recognized as the most successful team in North America.
