Frank Liu

Director - CVM China Program Office at University of Minnesota

Frank Liu has extensive experience in both academia and the private sector, currently serving as the Director of the CVM China Program Office and Program Director at the University of Minnesota since 2007. Prior to this role, Frank co-founded and held the position of President at Welgen Inc. from 2003 to 2005, and worked as a Consultant for CCG International from 2001 to 2003. Frank's earlier career includes significant contributions as Head of the Agriculture Section and Regional Project Coordinator for the International Jute Organization between 1998 and 2001, as well as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Minnesota from 1994 to 1997. Frank holds an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from the UMN Carlson School of Management and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Environmental Physiology from The University of Georgia, along with a Master’s degree in Genetics and Breeding from China Agricultural University and a Bachelor’s degree in Plant Physiology and Production from Jilin Agricultural University.
