Muneer Karcher-Ramos

Muneer Karcher-Ramos is a dedicated professional in the fields of community empowerment and social justice. Currently serving as the Program Director for Vibrant & Equitable Communities at the McKnight Foundation, Muneer leads efforts to distribute $32 million in grants annually to enhance equity and participation in Minnesota. As a board member of The Arc Minnesota, Muneer advocates for the rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Instructing at the University of Minnesota’s School of Social Work, Muneer guides students in community-based projects and social justice education. Muneer’s previous roles include Director of the Office of Financial Empowerment for the City of Saint Paul, where impactful economic justice initiatives were developed, and leadership positions at various organizations focused on educational equity and community organizing. Muneer holds an A.M. in Sociology from the University of Chicago and a BA in Political Science, Sociology, and Social Justice from the University of Minnesota.
