Shanon Fucik

Shanon Fucik is currently the Chief Nursing Officer at University of Missouri Health Care. Shanon has over 19 years of experience in the medical field, with a focus on pediatrics.

Fucik started their career as a Nurse Manager at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, where they worked for four years. In this role, they were responsible for starting up a new neurosciences inpatient unit. This involved working with HR to hire nursing and ancillary staff, collaborating with physicians on equipment needs and admission criteria, and hiring and working with a unit Educator to develop policies and procedures. Fucik also worked with several ancillary departments to develop rehab beds and services, and with administration on developing a budget for the unit.

In 2007, Fucik moved to Dell Children's Medical Center, where they worked as the Sr. Director for Emergency Services, Transport, and Patient Logistics for 14 years. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the emergency department, transport team, and patient logistics. Shanon also worked on various projects to improve the efficiency of these departments.

Fucik has been working as the Chief Nursing Officer at University of Missouri Health Care since 2021. In this role, they are responsible for leading the nursing team and improving patient care.

Shanon Fucik has an Executive MBA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a BSN from The University of Kansas. Shanon is certified by the ANCC as a Nurse Executive Advanced Board Certified.
