Burt Lewis is an accomplished academic and administrator with extensive experience in higher education. Since August 1996, Burt Lewis has served in various roles at the University of Mount Olive, including Assistant Vice President for Curriculum Development, Professor/Coach, Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, and Chair/Associate Professor. Prior to this, Burt Lewis held the position of Chair of the Division of Human Services at Mount Olive College from July 2012 to July 2015. Burt Lewis began a career in academia as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Georgia, where duties included serving as the National Survey on Recreation and the Environment Coordinator. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Forest Resources and Natural Resources from the University of Georgia, a Master of Science in Parks Recreation and Tourism Management from North Carolina State University, and a B.S. in Leisure Services and Studies from the University of Mount Olive.
