Helen Dimaras

Honorary Lecturer at University of Nairobi

Helen Dimaras is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology & Vision Sciences at the University of Toronto, where contributions span from March 2011 to the present, with additional roles in several affiliations including the Division of Clinical Public Health and the Institute of Medical Sciences. Simultaneously, Helen serves as the Director of Global Eye Health Research at the Hospital for Sick Children and holds the position of Scientist in the Child Health Evaluative Sciences department. Honorary Lecturer status is maintained at the University of Nairobi, and as a Scientific Advisor for World Eye Cancer Hope, contributions to global health initiatives are prominent. Prior experience includes work as an Affiliate Scientist at Toronto Western Research Institute and serving as Global Retinoblastoma Fellow and Clinical Trial Coordinator at the Hospital for Sick Children. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Molecular & Medical Genetics and an Honours B.Sc. in Molecular Biology & Molecular Genetics from the University of Toronto.
