Ann Medaille

Professor, Director Of Research And Instructional Services, Libraries at University of Nevada-Reno

Ann Medaille has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ann began their career as a Research Assistant at McREL in 1998 and later moved on to become an English and Theatre Teacher at Kent School from 1999 to 2001. In 2001, they joined Cell Press as a Deputy Managing Editor, where they worked until 2004. From 2004 to 2006, Ann worked as a Theatre and English Teacher at Sage Ridge School.

In 2007, Ann joined the University of Nevada, Reno, where they held various positions throughout the years. Ann started as a Library Instructor in 2007 and became a Reference and Instruction Librarian in 2008. From 2013 to 2016, they served as the Assessment Coordinator for Libraries and Teaching & Learning Technologies. Ann then transitioned to the role of Interim Assistant Dean for Administrative & Public Services in 2018, a position they held until 2020. Currently, they are a Professor and serves as the Director of Research and Instructional Services at the University of Nevada, Reno Libraries.

In 2017, Ann took on additional responsibilities as an Associate Editor for Research Articles at Evidence Based Library & Information Practice and later became the Editor-in-Chief in 2020. Through their work experience, Ann has gained expertise in research, teaching, and library management.

Ann Medaille holds a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Nevada, Reno, which they completed in 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Library Science from the University of North Texas in 2008. Ann also holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Theatre from the University of Colorado Boulder, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English & Theater from Trinity University.
