Alvin Tran, ScD, MPH, is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the University of New Haven, where additional roles include Assistant Provost for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Director of the BS in Public Health Program, as well as Interim Director of the Master of Public Health Program since July 2019. Tran is also engaged as an AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and serves as a DEIA Champion at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health, both from August 2023 to August 2024. Previous involvement includes board membership with CT SOPHE and A Place to Nourish your Health, along with leadership in the Academy for Eating Disorders. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Science from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, a Master of Public Health from Emory University, and dual Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Washington School of Public Health.
