George Williams is an accomplished legal scholar and university leader currently serving as Vice-Chancellor and President at Western Sydney University since July 2024. Previously, George held several prestigious roles at UNSW from 2000 to July 2024, including Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Law, while also being recognized as an Anthony Mason Professor and Scientia Professor. In addition to their academic career, George practiced as a barrister at the NSW Bar from 1995 onwards and was an academic at ANU College of Law from 1995 to 2000. George's educational background includes a Master of Laws from UNSW, a Doctor of Philosophy in Law from The Australian National University, and dual undergraduate degrees in Commerce and Laws from Macquarie University.
