Michelle Steel

Michelle Steel is an experienced Human Resources professional currently serving as the Human Resources Director at UNSW since September 2017, where responsibilities include post-Covid restructuring and enhancing flexibility in the workplace. Michelle has also held interim roles as Chief People Officer, guiding overall HR strategy, and HR Business Partner, supporting leadership in the Faculty of Built Environment and Faculty of Business. Previous experience includes positions at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd, Bauer Media Australia, Freedom Foods Group, Merlin Entertainments Group, Frucor Beverages, Sony Music Entertainment, and Goldman Sachs, with a progressive career focused on strategic HR functions and organizational development. Michelle holds a Master's degree in Personnel & Development from the University of Westminster and a Bachelor's degree in Management & International Business from Auckland University of Technology, along with additional international business education from Rennes School of Business.
