Renuka Gusain

Renuka Gusain is an accomplished academic and strategic leader with extensive experience in higher education and nonprofit sectors. Currently serving as a Board Member at Ten Thousand Villages Asheville since December 2021, Renuka is committed to fair trade practices that benefit global artisan communities. In academia, Renuka has held various roles at the University of North Carolina Asheville since August 2015, including Assistant Professor, Lecturer, and HUM 214 Coordinator. Previous experience includes serving as the Strategic Development Director for the Child Nutrition Foundation from 2012 to 2019, where Renuka played a key role in forming strategic partnerships and achieving organizational goals. Other notable positions include Instructional Consultant at the Office for Teaching and Learning and Instructor roles at Wayne State University and the University of Delhi. Renuka holds a PhD in English Language and Literature from Wayne State University, along with an M.Phil. and M.A. from Delhi University, and has furthered studies at Cornell University.
