Lisa Koonin is a public health expert and educator with extensive experience in health preparedness and response. As the Founder and Principal of Health Preparedness Partners since January 2019, Koonin provides strategic consultation during the COVID-19 pandemic for businesses and public health agencies. Koonin has held adjunct faculty positions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health since 2013 and 2019, respectively. Previously, Koonin spent over three decades at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, leading various strategic initiatives related to pandemic influenza preparedness and response, including the development of innovative programs like Flu on Call®. Koonin holds multiple advanced degrees, including a DrPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and dual master's degrees in Nursing and Public Health from Emory University.
