Michael Piehler

Michael Piehler is a Cary C. Boshamer Distinguished Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where Michael also serves as Chief Sustainability Officer and Special Assistant to the Chancellor for Sustainability. In addition to these roles, Michael is a Professor and has held positions as Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. Michael is the Director of the UNC Institute for the Environment and previously served as Interim Director of the UNC Coastal Studies Institute. Michael completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Environmental Science and Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
