Wendy Salmon

Director, Hooker Imaging Core at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Wendy Salmon serves as the Director of the Hooker Imaging Core at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill since September 2021. Concurrently, Wendy is a faculty member in the Analytical & Quantitative Light Microscopy course at the Marine Biological Laboratory, having held various roles since 2005, including Director from 2018 to 2022. Wendy's previous experience includes serving as a Light Microscopy Specialist at the Whitehead Institute from 2011 to 2021, and as an Advanced Imaging Specialist at Harvard Medical School from 2008 to 2011. Earlier roles also include Assistant Director of the Michael Hooker Microscopy Facility at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Director of the Light Microscopy Core Facility at Duke University Medical Center. Wendy holds a Master of Liberal Arts in Biotechnology from Harvard University Extension School and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Richmond.
