Abigail Herrera-Leal has a diverse range of work experience. Abigail served as the UNCG Dental Club President, overseeing various activities and leading the executive board members. Abigail also worked as a Spartan Guide, conducting campus tours and hosting open house events for prospective students and their parents. Abigail was a Guarantee Cohort Captain, providing support and role modeling to new Guarantee Scholars. Abigail was also involved in mentoring Latinx students through the CHANCE program and served on the CHANCE Reunion Planning Committee. Abigail held the position of UNCG Dental Club Secretary, handling administrative tasks and communication with club members. Additionally, they gained experience as an SHPEP Scholar at the Western University of Health Sciences, participating in mock interviews and attending workshops related to the medical and dental field. Abigail worked as an intern at Novant Health in their Diversity & Inclusion and Community Engagement departments. Abigail was also involved in research as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the UNCG DOGMAS Research Group and presented their research at the Thomas Undergraduate Research and Creativity Expo.
Abigail Herrera-Leal attended Robert B Glenn High School from 2016 to 2020, where they earned their High School Diploma. Abigail is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies (BS) at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, which they are set to complete in 2024. Abigail is studying within the School of Health and Human Sciences.
