Michael Byrd currently serves as the Associate Director of Admissions at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, beginning in November 2023. Prior to this role, Michael held positions as an Academic Advisor at Winston-Salem State University and as a Success Coach at Davidson-Davie Community College, where responsibilities included counseling students on academic and personal matters and providing course selection assistance. Michael's previous experience also includes serving as the Orientation Coordinator at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where event planning and supervising student leaders were key duties, as well as working as a First Year Experience Instructor and Transfer Coordinator at Winston-Salem State University, conducting information sessions for prospective students. Michael's career began with academic advising at Guilford Technical Community College, focusing on student-athlete academic progress. Michael holds a Master’s degree in Adult and Continuing Education and Teaching from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences/Human Sciences from East Carolina University.
