Dalene Swanson is a Professor of Education and Director of Postgraduate Research at the University of Nottingham since August 2022, previously serving as a Professor of Education at the University of Stirling from 2013 to 2022, where Dalene was the Principal Investigator on the UKRI GCRF project focused on enhancing capacity for vulnerable residents in Cape Flats. With a diverse academic background, Dalene has held various teaching and research positions, including Adjunct Professor at the University of Alberta and Professor of Education at Nelson Mandela University. Additional experience includes consultancy at Qatar University and postdoctoral fellowships at Simon Fraser University and NUI Galway. Dalene Swanson holds a PhD in Curriculum Studies and Mathematics Education from The University of British Columbia and multiple degrees in Mathematics and Education from the University of Cape Town, as well as qualifications in Speech and Drama from Trinity College London and Classical Ballet from the Royal Academy of Dance.
