Deacon Herndon is currently a Graduate Student Lecturer at the University of Oklahoma, teaching general chemistry during the summer term, and has served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant responsible for advanced synthesis and various chemistry labs. Prior experience includes a research and development internship at Ten-Nine Technologies, where optimization of proprietary material synthesis was a key focus, and roles at The University of Tulsa as a Mathematics Tutor and Undergraduate Research Assistant, engaging in organic synthesis research under Dr. Syed R Hussaini. Earlier experience includes a high school research internship under Dr. Warren Booth, studying bedbug mtDNA heteroplasmy. Deacon Herndon is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry at the University of Oklahoma after earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from The University of Tulsa.
