Kirk Garton, CMA, serves as the Director of Industry Partnerships and Director of Community, Energy, and Economic Development at the University of Oklahoma since December 2016, leading key programs such as the OU Economic Development Institute. As a Fundraising Consultant since September 2015, Kirk Garton assists higher education and non-profit organizations in achieving their fundraising objectives through innovative solutions and technical expertise in various fundraising practices. Previously, as Director of Broadbased Fundraising & Outreach at the University of Oklahoma Development from August 1992 to September 2015, Kirk Garton was responsible for raising over $39 million and significantly increasing telemarketing revenue. Kirk Garton also chaired the Gaming Board of Directors for the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma from July 2006 to July 2010, overseeing casino operations and expansions. Kirk Garton holds a Master’s degree in Sports Management and a degree in Accounting and Business/Management from the University of Oklahoma.
