Jesse Gale

Jesse Gale is an experienced consultant ophthalmologist and ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, and cataract, currently serving at Capital & Coast District Health Board and Capital Eye Specialists since April 2015. In addition to clinical practice, Jesse holds the position of Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Otago, focusing on ophthalmology curriculum development and student education. Previous experience includes a Senior Clinical Fellowship in Glaucoma at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and research fellowship at Doheny Eye Institute UCLA, emphasizing mitochondrial optic neuropathies. Jesse has also undertaken various clinical roles as an ophthalmology registrar across multiple health boards in New Zealand, after completing medical education and training at the University of Otago and Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology.
