Philynn Hepschmidt has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry, with a particular focus on electronic health record (EHR) systems and patient access. From 2005 to 2012, they worked as the Senior Director for Epic Ambulatory Applications at Penn Medicine, where they led the implementation and support of a large-scale ambulatory EHR project. Philynn managed a team of 40 people and developed strategies to optimize and support over 200 outpatient practices. Additionally, they played a key role in the implementation of a new registration, scheduling, and billing system across multiple hospitals and outpatient practices.
In 2012, Philynn joined Trinity Health as the Director of Ambulatory Systems before returning to Penn Medicine in 2014. Philynn held various leadership positions at Penn Medicine, including Associate Executive Director of EHR Transformation and Associate Vice President of EHR Transformation. In these roles, they were responsible for directing the development and adoption of enterprise-wide EHR functionality, enhancing digital access for patients, improving electronic communication with providers, and leading specialty optimization initiatives. As of 2021, they hold the position of Vice President of Patient Access at Penn Medicine.
Philynn Hepschmidt completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from West Chester University from 1993 to 1997. Philynn then pursued a Master's of Science degree in Education at Arcadia University from 2002 to 2004.
