Shivan Mehta

Shivan Mehta serves as the Director of the Population Health Lab at Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System, where a primary focus is on leveraging behavioral science and technology to enhance population health through collaboration with clinical operations, securing over $8 million in external funding. In the role of Associate Chief Innovation Officer at the Center for Health Care Transformation & Innovation, Shivan leads a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement strategies aimed at enhancing health care value across the extensive Penn Medicine network. As an Associate Professor of Medicine and Health Policy at the Perelman School of Medicine, Shivan conducts health services research centered on pragmatic trials and has received funding from NIH, NCCN, and CMS for innovative health care delivery evaluations, particularly in areas such as cancer screening and vaccination. Shivan's prior experience includes clinical roles at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center and residency at Columbia University Medical Center, complemented by a strong educational background including an MD from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from The Wharton School.
