Michael Jeffrey Carroll

Michael Jeffrey Carroll serves as the Assistant Director and Materials & Images Librarian at the University of Pennsylvania's Fisher Fine Arts Library since July 2022. Carroll oversees the Materials Library and the Fine Arts Images Collection, manages a team dedicated to 3D scanning services, and enhances resource accessibility through a proposed migration to a new database. Previously, Carroll held various positions at Temple University from January 2016 to July 2022, including Digital Collections Specialist, where responsibilities encompassed digitization project management, metadata standardization, and digital preservation workflow development. Earlier experience includes roles at the Presbyterian Historical Society, where document digitization and quality control were priorities, and contributions to the art community through writing and curatorial efforts. Carroll holds a Master of Science in Library Science and a Master of Arts in Art History, complemented by an extensive background in fine arts and digital humanities.
