Shane MacKey

Shane Mackey has extensive experience in flow cytometry and quality control within clinical environments, currently serving as Flow Cytometry Lead at the University of Pennsylvania's Clinical Cell and Vaccine Manufacturing Facility since May 2015. In this role, Shane oversees flow cytometry operations for clinical release testing of cell therapy products and supervises a team of senior technicians. Previously, Shane held senior and entry-level positions within the same facility, focusing on process development, method validation, and quality control testing. Prior experience includes a Research Associate role at the University of Miami, where research concentrated on regulatory T cells and their implications for Type 1 diabetes treatment. Shane holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from the University of Chicago and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Regulatory Affairs at the University of Pennsylvania.
