Alex Maldonado

Assistant Teaching Professor

Alex Maldonado is currently serving as a Postdoctoral Associate in Computational Biology at the University of Pittsburgh, where responsibilities include advancing research and mentoring students through comprehensive coursework in bioinformatics, computational structural biology, and computer-aided drug design. Prior to this role, Alex completed a PhD as a Graduate Student Researcher in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, specializing in designing and analyzing machine learning force fields. Alex's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Western Michigan University, where involvement included a MI-LSAMP Research Internship and participation in the Environmental Concerns Committee in Kalamazoo.
