Richard D Boyce is an accomplished academic and researcher in the field of biomedical informatics. Currently serving as Chair of the Research Workgroup for CFC International since July 2022, Richard is also an Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh, a position held since 2010, along with being an AHRQ Comparative Effectiveness Research Scholar. Under his collaboration with the Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics (OHDSI) program since January 2014, Richard contributes to the development of open-source solutions that leverage observational health data for large-scale analytics. Richard's previous roles include being a Research Community Member for the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership from 2008 to 2013 and an Invited Expert for the W3C Health Care and Life Sciences Interest Group from 2010 to 2011. Richard holds a PhD and MS in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Washington, obtained in 2008, and a BS in Computer Science from Central Washington University, completed in 2003.
