Imran Karim is an experienced Event Technician at the University of Portsmouth Students' Union, involved in setting up sound and lighting for various events and troubleshooting technical issues. Imran also has a background in photography and videography, having founded Just Snap-It and worked on various commercial projects. Additionally, Imran has volunteered as a Crew Member for AV teams, engaged as a Graduate Outcomes Telephone Advisor, and held leadership roles such as Secretary General for Model United Nations at Jaffery Academy Mombasa. With a degree in BA Television Production, Imran has a strong foundation in film and video studies.

Portsmouth Students’ Union has a vision of creating a positive impact with every Portsmouth student during their time at University. As a charity led by our values and guided by our students, we do this by providing wide-ranging services and learner support to the 20,000 students of the University of Portsmouth. Create change for a better University. Anyone can get involved in the Student Council and run in our Elections for one of many leadership roles. As well as gaining valuable experience through our representation opportunities, students can also volunteer for one of our many volunteering groups such as VIP or SU Heroes. It's a great way to meet new people whilst giving back to the community. Our extensive Activities programme has over 100 sports clubs and societies. We also run one-off trips and events through our Give it a Go programme.
