Alejandra Carles-Tolra is a Lecturer in Photography at the University of Portsmouth since February 2022, also serving as a Visiting Lecturer at both Northeastern University and previously at the University of New Hampshire. With extensive experience as a Participatory Photography Facilitator for the Helen Bamber Foundation, Carles-Tolra leads photography groups for asylum seekers and refugees, while also working as an Artist/Facilitator for Create (Arts) Ltd, focusing on engaging disadvantaged communities through the arts. As a Professional Photographer since 2012, Carles-Tolra has collaborated with notable organizations including the Futbol Club Barcelona Foundation and UNICEF, with published work in respected media outlets and exhibited internationally. Educational qualifications include a Master of Fine Arts in Photography from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and dual Bachelor's degrees in Sociology from the Universitat de Barcelona.
