Andy Gibson

Andy Gibson currently serves as the Associate Head of Global Engagement and Academic in the School of Environment and Life Sciences at the University of Portsmouth, as well as Director of the Centre for Applied Geoscience and Research Degree Coordinator for the Faculty of Science and Health. Prior to this role, Andy held various positions at the British Geological Survey from January 2000 to December 2009, including Head of Science for Land Use and Development where responsibilities encompassed budget management, strategy, and oversight of research themes related to geohazards and urban development. Academic credentials include a PhD in Engineering Geology and Remote Sensing from the University of Portsmouth, an MS in Coastal Zone Management from Bournemouth University, a BS in Geology and Earth Science from the University of Plymouth, and an HND in Civil Engineering from the same institution.
