Dr. Vasileios Karagiannopoulos serves as the Co Director of the Centre for Cybercrime and Economic Crime at the University of Portsmouth since March 2014. In addition to this role, Dr. Karagiannopoulos is a Reader in Cybercrime and Cybersecurity, teaching courses related to Digital Forensic Investigations, Cyberlaw, Governance and Human Rights, Online Activism, Cyberterrorism, and Cyberwarfare, as well as Internet regulation at the master's level. Previous experience includes positions as a Senior Lecturer in Law and Cybercrime, where responsibilities encompassed directing the Cybercrime Awareness Clinic and leading the BSc program in Criminology and Cybercrime, and serving on various ethics committees. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Information Technology Law and Regulation from the University of Strathclyde, along with a Master’s Degree in Information Technology and Telecommunications Law, and a Bachelor of Laws from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon. Dr. Karagiannopoulos also holds a certificate in Digital Forensic Investigations from 7Safe.
