Homagni Choudhury is a distinguished academic with a comprehensive background in economics, currently serving as the Head of the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance and as a Professor of Economics at the University of Portsmouth since October 2021. Prior to this role, Choudhury held positions as an Associate Professor in Economics and Head of the Economics Department at Kingston University, as well as a Lecturer and Teaching Fellow in Economics at Aberystwyth University. Choudhury’s earlier experience includes roles at the University of Dundee as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and various positions involving research and academic support. Choudhury earned a PhD in Economics from the University of Dundee, an MSc in International Economics from Lancaster University, and a BA (Honours) in Economics from Delhi University. Notable research work includes a project on trade liberalization and industrial performance in India.
