Katharine Downie

Katharine Downie, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Technical Advisor at Cowater International for the SPARC programme and the Ethiopia TSTP, and as a Senior Quantitative Survey Specialist at the University of Portsmouth, focusing on the prevalence of violence against women and girls in South Sudan. Previous positions include leadership roles at IBF International Consulting and Tetra Tech Europe, overseeing monitoring and evaluation initiatives across multiple countries. Katharine has also directed the Somalia Resilience Innovation Lab, led data quality assurance efforts for World Vision's Somalia Resilience Program, and consulted with various international organizations on agricultural development and resilience strategies. Educated at the University of Edinburgh with a PhD in Zoonotic Epidemiology and a Bachelor's degree from McGill University, Katharine brings extensive expertise in quantitative research and monitoring frameworks to humanitarian and development projects.
